About Me
Living and studying in both Japan and the United States has shaped how I see people, cultures, and the world around me. In 2025, I moved from Tokyo to California and began a new chapter at Mountain View High School. For my senior year, I joined the Middle College program, continuing as a Mountain View High School student while taking college-level courses at Foothill College.
Today, three interests are especially important to me: kendo, violin, and global affairs. Kendo keeps me connected to my Japanese roots while challenging me to grow through competition and community. I have played the violin since I was four, and music has remained an important part of my life across both Japan and the United States. My curiosity about global affairs has led me to study international relations through academic experiences and to explore questions about politics, economics, and international affairs through Poli-Talk, a podcast I created to research and share what I learn.

Kendo is a Japanese martial art of swordsmanship that emphasizes discipline, respect, and continuous self-improvement.
I began practicing kendo in Japan at age 12. When I moved to California in 2025, I continued training in a new environment. Although the language, school, and community around me changed, the dojo remained a familiar place. Kendo has allowed me to stay connected to Japanese culture while building new friendships and competing throughout the U.S. From local tournaments to representing Northern California at the national level, each experience has challenged me to grow as a competitor, teammate, and person.

Violin
VIOLINIST
MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL CHAMBER ENSEMBLE
I have played the violin since I was four, making music one of the longest-running parts of my life. In Japan, I helped create lunchtime concerts where students could perform and share music with one another. After moving to California, I continued playing as part of my high school’s Chamber Ensemble. Across both countries, violin has given me a way to express myself, perform with others, and connect with people through music.

Community
Coast District Representative
Young Buddhist Association (YBA)
Through YBA, I connect with my community, work alongside others, and find opportunities to contribute. As a Coast District Representative, I participate in weekly activities, help organize community and cultural events, and work with other members to support YBA activities. These experiences have taught me the importance of responsibility, collaboration, and contributing to a community.
